OSMOSUN® 16 SW – Western Cape Province, South Africa

This OSMOSUN® seawater desalination unit, produces 100m3 per day, only powered by solar energy and without battery, and up to 350 m3 powered by hybrid energy sources.




Over 3,000 local inhabitants are benefitting from the fresh water supply of about 100m3 produced per day by the OSMOSUN® 16 SW desalination plant using solar energy only. The unit has been implemented to alleviate the severe impact of the drought in the Western Cape Province in South Africa. Operation is managed by the local utility supported by Turnkey Water Solutions, exclusive representative organisation of Mascara Renewable Water in South Africa.
